The fine print, in plain words
Privacy
Effective October 28, 2026
This site is run by me, Mike Wacker. I keep what you share private. I never sell it. This page explains what I collect and why.
What I collect
- What you type into a form. The speaking form asks for your name, email, and phone, plus any event details you add. The contact form asks for your name, email, and message. The Locker Room waitlist asks for your name, email, your role, and any answers you choose to give. Share a Memory asks for your name, email, how you know me, your memory, whether I may share it, and whether I may use it in my book. Remembering Coach Jim Wacker asks for your name, email, an optional phone number, how you knew my dad, your memory, its source, and your permission choices.
- Basic visit counts. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not identify you.
The site does not use advertising trackers or cookies.
How I use it
- To reply to you, plan a talk, or tell you when the Locker Room opens.
- To share a memory you send, only in the places you checked: this website, a book, my newsletter, or social media.
- To keep simple records of inquiries and sign-ups.
Sending a memory never signs you up for my newsletter. I will not add you to a newsletter mailing list unless you ask to join one. I will not sell, rent, or trade your information.
Memories you share
On the Share a Memory form you choose, one by one, where I may share your memory: this website, my book about my coaching years, my newsletter (The JDYB Huddle and its archive), and social media. If you check none, it stays private, just for me. I use the name you chose: your full name, or your first name and last initial. I never post your email. I may trim a memory for length, but I will never change what you meant. You get an email copy of what you sent and the places you chose, and I keep your email as the record of exactly what you agreed to. Ask me any time and I will take your memory down from any place you chose, or all of them, within a week (this site, the newsletter archive and future posts). You may withdraw book permission any time before the manuscript goes to print. Once it is printed, I can't change printed copies.
Memories of Coach Jim Wacker
I am writing a book about my dad. If you share a memory on the Remembering Coach Jim Wacker page, I use it only the ways you chose: in the book, on this website, in my newsletter, on social media, or only for my own research. Your name appears the way you chose, and I never publish your email or phone. You keep the rights to your words and photos. You get an email copy of your submission and permission. You may withdraw your permission for one use or all of them, any time before the manuscript goes to print, by emailing book@coachwacker.com. Ask any time and I will take it down from the website, the newsletter archive and future posts within a week, even after printing; printed copies cannot change. I keep your submission and permission record for as long as the book is in print, so I can show what you agreed to.
Who helps deliver it
A few services carry your message from the form to my inbox: Vercel (hosts the site), Resend (sends the form email), Cloudflare (routes email for coachwacker.com), and Google Gmail (my inbox). They handle your information only to deliver it.
How long I keep it
I keep inquiries and sign-ups as long as they are useful for replying or staying in touch. Ask me any time and I will delete yours.
Your choices
- Ask what I have about you.
- Ask me to correct it or delete it.
- Ask me to stop contacting you. Every email I send will tell you how.
Email coach@coachwacker.com. I will reply within a week.
Young people
This site is for coaches, schools, groups, and adults. It is not meant for children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their information. If you are under 18, please ask a parent before you send a form.
